Holding a camera is not work. If someone that actually WORKS at the newspaper won an award, that would be NEWS.
Since the MDN decided that they must reduce the size due to cost issues, I would be perfectly happy with removing the silly pictures and actually using the space for NEWS. If I want to look at pictures, I will goto a museum. But I expect NEWS from my NEWSpaper!Pictures don't do anything for a NEWSpaper other than waste spacek, where NEWS could be placed.
What is so much worse is the ego factor, in that Wood and Morgan seem so full of themselves that its just sickening. If they were so important to NEWS, they would not be working for a smal town paper like the MDN, but at something artsy-fartsy (where people actually care about pictures instead of NEWS, perhaps in san fran?) "

Wowie! I wonder if the writer of this nasty gram, has ever looked at pictures in other newspapers? My favorite part of the MDN is the pictures. If I want news, I'll listen to the radio, if I want to know what is happening in town, I'll look at the newspaper.

dude, as you know, comments on our site are something to just laugh at. I like to picture a 700 lbs. person sitting in their dark apartment surrounded by 16 cats typing away their "opinions" while eating spam from a can. After all the comments from the fire, and this guy/lady, we just have to take it as a grain of salt and keep striving to do our best for those who give a shit, and even for those who don't.
Just think how amazing it is that you have something so amazing to elicit such comments - I picture this person with a curly mustache and a black top hat - an utter villain - and you know what happens to all villains right? - they're crushed! Keep snapping those amazing photos and make each moment a f*** U to this ignorant person, and those like them!!!
Well... I guess since I'm the only MDNer left that hasn't chimed in. IMHO, everyone has an opinion. Just let this guy/gal express it and move on. Why dwell? Why ego-trip? Maybe the guy has point. Maybe we do get too feature heavy in our paper. Iono. Nothing black and white, there is no us and them, right or wrong. It all just is. That's it. It all just f***in IS.
